Hi Everyone - it's been a while since I last posted anything. Anyway, Kyle graduated from Hudson Area High School on May 28th. It was a beautiful day. Uncle Charley and Aunt Margie came out for the graduation. They were also here for Kyle's open house on the 27th - thanks for all of your help Char & Mar! On Monday, the 29th, we had to have Kyle to his Marine Corps. recruiter's office by 5 p.m. He is now in Marine Corps. boot camp at Parris Island, SC. He was in the delayed entry program and was originally scheduled to leave on Aug. 7th for boot camp. On May 24th his recruiter called to tell us to have him ready on May 30th. Then on the 26th the recruiter called and told him to be ready to go on the 29th. Whoa! We got a call at 2 a.m. on the 31st that he made it to Parris Island. He had flown from Detroit to Chicago and then got stuck in Chicago because of bad weather, so it took a little longer to get to SC. He finally flew from Chicago to Wash. D.C. to Savannah, GA on the 31st and arrived at Parris Island in the early morning of June 1st. We're waiting for a letter from him with his address so we can start writing.
School is now over for the summer - the last day was May 26th. James will be my only child left in school - he'll be in eighth grade in the fall. Michael came home for the summer - nice to have him back. Thanks again Char and Mar for taking him in for the past 3 years!
We're looking forward to Lyz & Chad's wedding on the 16th of June. Tim and Jill are flying in to Philly on the 14th. Nick won't be able to make it to the wedding because he is getting his wisdom teeth out on the 14th and doesn't think he'll be feeling well. He'll come home to MI for the July 4th weekend. And of course Kyle is busy at boot camp.
Okay, enough for now. Talk to you all later. Barbara
